Abstract

Williams syndrome (WS) is a genetically conditioned developmental disorder that occurs once in 20,000 – 75,000 live births. The most frequently mentioned symptoms of WS include a specific appearance, intellectual disability and health problems. In patients with WS speech development is delayed by an average of two years. Children also have intellectual disability. The aim of the work is to present a case study of a three-year-old child with WS. The course of speech therapy and an exemplary therapy plan for speech disorders have been described. Properly conducted therapy allows the preparation of patients for adult, independent life.
