Abstract

Knowledge of negative influence of alcohol on fetus is becoming more common. Though it is still uncertain what amount of alcohol is crutial in this case. Therefore it is recommendet for pregnant women to maintain total alcohol abstinence. Damage caused by the alcohol in growing fetus may be vast. The most important organ that may be damaged is brain. Children with diagnosed fetal alcohol syndrome - FAS can have other problems in developement including auditory. These are, in most cases, sensorineural hearing loss or fluctuating conductive hearing loss also difficulties in auditory processing may appear. Having none of these problems may also be possible. It is case study of a 10-year-old girl with diagnosed fetal alcohol syndrome. This article contains her daily living and fuctioning, ongoing therapy and further therapeutic prognosis.
